Pastor Chris Rottenberger

Pastor Chris Rottenberger accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1971.

He graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, and

also from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX in 1981.

Pastor Chris received a MRE degree, concentrating on Theology, Church Music, and Religious Education.

Pastor Chris has been in the ministry since 1976 and has served churches in Florida,Texas, Louisiana,

and the Cayman Islands.

Pastor Chris and his wife Sherry Dale have been at the First Baptist since June 22, 2003.

They were married in August 1974.

The Rottenberger's have two grown children, Dorinda and Reuben,

and two grandchildren, Evan and Hannah Grace.

Virgil Wuthrich - Worship Leader

Virgil trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation at age 19. He joined the FBCD in the Year 2000

and has since served as our worship leader for the past seven years, and served in the youth ministry.

Virgil has been Chairman of Church Board for six years, and has also served as a trustee and a deacon.

He has been married to Ella Ogle Wuthrich for eight years.

Virgil has five children and eleven grandchildren.

He has also worked for 25 years in accounting with Sunbeam Corporation in Chicago and Milwaukee.

He then took an early retirement and joined New Tribes Mission in 1989.

Sharon Ballou - Director of Youth Ministries

Sharon Ballou has been on staff with FBC Debary since January of 2009 serving as the Youth Ministry Director.

Sharon has had a passion for youth all of her life and has been officially working in Youth Ministry in one

capacity or another for 14 years.

Hearing her calling to full time Youth Ministry in August of 2006, she began to pursue this as a career and

was called to her first church in October of 2008. Sharon is a mother of three beautiful daughters, Danielle (21),

Brittany (20) and Christal who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2007.

Sharon is presently attending Seminary seeking her Masters of Divinity in Christian Education at

New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

The DeBary Baptist Chapel, later renamed the First Baptist Church of DeBary had it’s very first service on September 14, 1952

Our church has been on the net since July 14, 2001 - our community service to HIM!
